Any difference in temperament between a Pomeranian and Toy American Eskimo?

Yes. They are both high strung dogs, but an American Eskimo is more active and less yappy than a Pomeranian. American Eskimos are loyal and intelligent, but you have to keep a close eye on them or they will get bored. Poms need less exercise, but every dog needs at least some, but these are more of lapdogs. Both can be subject to 'small dog syndrome' so you should research that. I suggest an American Eskimo over a Pomeranian, I have had both and have found that the eskie was much more loving and laid back behavioral wise.
