Why does my dachshund stink so bad?

Change the food. A dog's diet can cause a dog to smell and that is a horrible quality of dog food. Change your dog's diet and you might notice a huge difference. Also, only bathe him monthly, any more and it can cause skin problems. Take him to the vet. If he's having a skin issue then that could be causing the smell.
