How do you handle Children & Pets?

I currently own a 6yr old lab & a 1yr old Aussie/Border collie and two Snow Bengal cats. I'm just curious as to how people handled bringing home a child with pets already in the house hold? I grew having pets, usually dogs. Now, I am getting in October and we are discussing children. I'm scared of having kids, I REALLY do want them. I'm crazy about my nieces and nephews and my pets love them as well. How did you handle bringing home a baby with existing pets? Was anyone ever scared of being a parent? And did that change once you had the baby? Please any and all information would be greatly appreciated. I want to know as much as possible before I even get pregnant.
